It's the first Mosaic Monday meme, hosted by Mary at Little Red House. I am jumping in late to the game; it's the wrap-up of a busy weekend, and my daughters and I have been tidying up the last of the party remains and house guest reminders. (And thankfully not any house guest remains! I always consider a party a success when no one is accidentally poisoned.)
We also drove back to our former town today, where there are several wholesale growers, to buy some of our summer plants, and now we want to get out there in the dirt and plant!
Using Picasa, I have done a mosaic, but it ain't much. I promise a better effort next time! Click here to see way, way better mosaics --- certainly much prettier ones!
Yes, this is an odd choice of subject for a mosaic -- no pretty peonies! I did a post back in February, on the old doorknobs and locks and latches in That Old House. Some of them are lovely, some are painfully practical, and I love all of them. That post is here, if you are a glutton for punishment and want to see more of our old doorknobs, with a few bedknobs and bell ringers tossed in.
Have a lovely Monday, and thanks to Mary, whose blog was the first I ever stumbled upon!

ReplyDeleteI like this post, Cass. It give me another chance to see more of your home. The doorknobs are cool. Sort of changes that assumption that all doorknobs in old homes are made of glass!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy plant shopping! We are still having frost at night...

ReplyDeleteHi Cass,
ReplyDeleteYour so funny, love this post! Old door knobs fascinate me, when I was a kid one of my great-aunts had doors with glass knobs that were so pretty. I always remember admiring those. Hope all is well with you, Cindy

I have a thing for old door knobs. One of the things I most regretted leaving behind at a previous house was an old door with a lovely old crystal knob - but the new owner would've noticed if I'd swapped it with a fake!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these door knobs. We had "diamond" ones in our first home - - - a lovely little Cape Cod style house. I LOVED them.
