January is like that.
After church, Howard and I will continue our quest to find
the perfect venue for daughter Alida's wedding reception this summer.I'm taking the easy blogging road today, and re-posting something
from June of 2010, thanks to the Sunday Favorites blog party.

Ssshhhh. . . . I'm taking a few moments for a solitary cup of tea in the parlor.
You can peek if you'd like; you're family.
It's simple.
An old brown lustreware teapot.
A birthday tea cup -- July of course! -- and some vintage linen and lace.

And an old, old damask napkin edged in hand crocheted lace.
So soft, so pretty.

Cass -- I hope you're making some progress for wedding venues. I would imagine that in your part of the world that there are many? Enjoy this wedding -- it's truly a special time!

Cass-I have bee MIA for a while and had missed the engagement--congratulations! I enjoyed every minute of planning our daughter's wedding--of course, I enjoyed it more once we got all the "biggies" nailed down. Sometimes having lots of options makes it even harder! I am in the middle of trying to plan TWO rehearsal dinners for both sons so I feel your pain :) Come home and put your feet up and drink that tea this afternoon--you will deserve it! Well, I actually don't have a place like that in my home, but I always take a walk when I need to be alone for a while. I love that, to get out for a while and get some fresh air and get some new energy.

That was lovely - and I too crave solitude more than I care to say. I love my quiet mornings and evenings, and when I have lunch at work I try to go away on my own. Perhaps it's because I listen to people all day - I just want quiet whenever I can get it. I'm not anti-social, because I'd love to share my pot of tea with a friend any day!

Cass, this is worth seeing again. such a lovely setting. Love the needlepoint on that pretty chair, and all of your delicate linens and that tea cup just make this a perfect setting for a lady to relax with a copy of tea. laurie
