Par-TAY And No Pics!

We're up early, Howard and I;
it's the day of our annual Christmas Party for family and close friends.

Lots still to do, and I can feel the adrenaline and excitement and that wee whiff of near-panic
that always marks a Party Day for me.  Best feeling in the world, and panic is the best motivator.
Howard, get that coffee going now!

Yesterday's Cranberry and Onion Brisket will be on the distinctly not-fancy menu,
designed to have something for any age or taste, although vegans might be challenged.
There are no calories at Christmas.  It's Santa's greatest gift to us.

Here's the Menu for today, everything family favorites (except for the Pizza Dip from Martha,
new this year); certain things are just expected to be on the table!

Hot Rum Punch (made in a coffee urn!)
Wine, Beer, Soft Drinks
Full(ish) Bar
************
STARTERS:
Hot Reuben Dip
Hot Pizza Dip
Hot Artichoke Dip
Bleu Cheese Mousse
Smoked Gouda, Jarlsberg, Brie, Gjetost
Cold Shrimp
Onion Dip & Potato Chips
Hummus
Pickled Herring in Wine Sauce & in Cream Sauce
Pigs in Blankets and without Blankets for the low-carbers
Assorted Crackers and Dippers and dinky little rye breads
***********
DINNER BUFFET:
Cranberry & Onion Brisket
Oven Baked Chicken Strips
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Baked Beans (ah! a little dinner music!)
Sauteed Broccoli with Garlic
Roasted Carrots & Sweet Potatoes
Cold Fruit Salad
***********
DESSERT:
Assorted Christmas cookies
Cheesecakes
Coffee and Tea

Okay, I'm off to have some coffee and strap on my roller skates!
I hope you all are doing something wonderful today, whether it is shopping or partying or just hanging out.

Doris and Kirby, Carol and Lindy -- enjoy your Southern revels, but we will miss you!
However, we'll need less gin on the bar . . . .  ;-)
Merry Christmas! -- Cass
