Happy Mother's Day

To all the mothers, grandmothers, future mothers -- a very Happy Mother's Day.

We are taking my father out to brunch today, my sister and I and our families.

I feel blessed that my daughter Alida is here from California. My other daughter Anne is too busy with end-of-semester chores to get home, so the mountain (that would be me) is going to Mohammed; I am tootling down to New Brunswick today, and Annie and I are going to a preview showing of Letters to Juliet.

I feel blessed to be able to see both my daughters today.

Not in the same place at the same time, but that's okay.

And to my mother-in-law Irene, a Happy Mother's Day as well.
She's on the right in this picture, with her daughter Phyllis next to her.

I am very blessed in my in-laws.
(Hello, Howard's Dad . . . Are you reading?)

And this is the first Mother's Day I don't have my own mother.

I miss her every day.

And finally, if he could speak English, I'm sure Mr Dion DiPoochy
would wish me a Happy Mother's Day, too.

Bye! Must fly; Howard's waiting ... Cass

  2. Enjoy your day -- Daughter Sarah is too far away in Minnesota . . .

This is our first Mother's Day -- motherless since we lost Jim's Mom.

A quiet day for us --

And have a great time with your Dad and your daughters!

  13. Bittersweet - lovely to have a chance to see each of your girls but certainly a time to think of your dear mother. I hope you had a great time at Letters to Juliet.

  14. My, the resemblance between Anne and her Auntie Phyllis is striking.

Lovely to read that you got to spend time with both Anne and Alida. I'm sure your own dear Mother is watching over you.
