Either that, or she is out in the wild countryside, buying other people's dishes.
And that leaves it to me, Dion DiPoochy, to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day.
St. Patrick is famous for driving all the cats out of Ireland, making it a happy and peaceful land --
a land where all the people give their corned beef to their dogs, and keep just the cabbage for themselves.
which you can tell because there are no green dogs.
Shamrocks are as tasty as clover, but harder to find.

Everyone says "Slainte!" to one another, which means:
"Pin your ears back, put your head down into your water bowl, and drink deep."
"Pin your ears back, put your head down into your water bowl, and drink deep."
So, Slainte!
Mom was going to write about how she used to fool her children, my pet girls, into thinking Leprechauns has turned their breakfast pancakes green on St. Pat's Day, but she realized she had no green food coloring in the house, and also that she had to go out into the countryside and buy other people's dishes. Just because.

So . . . Happy St. Patrick's Day, go celebrate! While your dog does what he or she does best:
Sleep.
I just love your poochy!

Well happy St. Patricks day to you too Mr. Dion DiPoochy! And the same goes for your mother : )
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll have you know that green is a beautiful color on me.
Dion--It is good to know about this holiday from you. It's also good to know what dog's do when we are gone. :)

Your little dog is so precious! Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteOliver tried to convince us that he really was an IRISH setter in a Welsh Corgi disquise. Who is he fooling!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cute Cass! She is really a pretty dog! Oh, for the pin cushions I used polyfill and a metal dish scrubber, 3 for a $1 at the dollar tree. They are very easy to make and kind of fun to find old cups or whatever that will work!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Hi, i just love your dog!! He is so cute....Kathy
ReplyDeleteDion, please tell Mom we want t see those dishes!
ReplyDeletexoxo Pattie and Allie
Dear Dion, a nice try only St Patrick drove out the snakies. And there are no snakes here at all (completely illegal to import any (hooray!)).
ReplyDeleteZebbycat and Mickle send you happy St Greenness thoughts, along with a cherrful sampling of Zebbyca claws on his Mickle human (she doesn't purr back at me)
Happy Springtime Dion!*
* hide his eyes Cass, so he can' see thoughts of the bath Dion needs.
Happy Springtime!!!
Thanks for making me chuckle, Dion. You speak the truth, and reality is funnier than fiction. :)

A day late - but Happy St. Patrick's Day to you also! :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Dion - I enjoyed your post today, and maybe your mommy will bring you back a pretty dish for your corned beef.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a face that make a person smile! Cass, you are delightful. **blows kisses** Deb

Love it!! Happy St. Pats!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lisa
Whatever else may happen on St. Pats Day, don't give the cabbage to the dog or you will regret it. That would drive all the cats, rats and people out of Ireland. Phew.
ReplyDeleteJust lovin that Dion!!! Dishes RULE!!!
ReplyDeleteCass, kiss Dion for me, and then stop over and see my almost complete redo
ReplyDeleteTop o' the mornin' to you, Dion. I hope mommy got some wonderful dishes. :)
ReplyDeleteClever, Cass ... as always!!!
ReplyDeleteMr. Dion should really be on the cover of ... something. He's very photogenic. Perhaps he should appear on the jacket of his first novel ... he writes beautifully! ;)
Have a great weekend!

That is just too precious!~ Both the dear pooch, and the entire post St' Paddy's day post!..,
ReplyDeleteI think that appparently either I also, 'ran away with the gypsies myself' or I 'got lost in the countryside while searching for tea time treasures and dishes galore' as well!..,
~ Why I was seemingly nowhere to be found, when it comes to the proper decorum of politesse and extending heartfelt thank you's for joining my little, 22nd 'Tuesday Tea For Two', blog tea party my dear!..,
What you posted was utterly, delightfully lovely and I THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR JOINING IN THE FUN!
( There is a longer post in the comments section below, for 'Tuesday's Tea' post my dear)!..,
