Daylilies and Doggies

Back in June, I wrote about visiting a new friend at her charming Sears house, and how perfectly the house reflected its owner. I love a home that could only belong to the person who lives there.

Last week, Anne and I visited Barbara again. And this time, I took pictures.

I will write a post soon about the house itself, as it is just so charming.
It will be our Mystery Trip!

Another time. We will stay outside, on Outdoor Wednesday.

My mother is not having a good day -- I will be leaving soon to be with her.

For now, just a few closeups of some of the beautiful daylilies in Barbara's borders:

I love the pollen on the rich red of the bloom.

This was the last bloom of the season for this pale and interesting beauty;
in person she is the softest pink.

Peek A Boo!

The gardens at Barbara's house are what I hope mine will be someday.
I will show more in a future post, along with the house, and her three sweet little Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
See them peeking out a front window, below?

On our first trip, we brought Mr. Dion, our own Cavalier.
Oh dear.

L'amour! L'amour!
He was just a little too fond of the three ladies, and made a pest of himself.

You would think that at 10-1/2 years old, he would know better.

If Dion hung posters above his Wally Bed, he would hang that old 60s one:
"Make Love, Not War."

He stayed behind at That Old House last week.
