Love ... on Wordless Wednesday

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday, hosted by Dixie at http://frenchlique.blogspot.com/

My parents, 5 years ago, on their 60th Anniversary. . .. . . and then just last spring, my father visiting my mom at a rehab facility. She has Alzheimer's and he has Parkinson's, and they can no longer live together. He visits every day.
That is LOVE.

My other blog post today is about the old knobs -- doorknobs, bedknobs, even a knob on a window lock -- in That Old House. Please visit!

  1. How special. I'm glad they've been able to celebrate their love so many years--you can just see it in their eyes in the first picture.

I too have a mom with Alzheimer's. She's been in a nursing home the last several months. It's such a sad disease...

Thanks for stopping by to see me. I hope you'll return :-)

  7. Over 65 years of marriage. The love is there, but now it shows as a true testament and it shows what "real love" looks like. God bless their sweet hearts.

  17. THANK YOU FOR SHARING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY....TODAY PEOPLE ARE SO QUICK TO GIVE UP ON A MARRIAGE AND THAT IS THE TRUEST TESTAMENT OF LOVE WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO GO DAILY TO SEE YOUR "SWEETHEART" WHEN THEY MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW YOU... BUT THE DESIRE TO SEE THEM AND KNOW THEY ARE OKAY IS GREATER THAN BEING SEEN AS A STRANGER.
BLESS THEM BOTH...HER TRAPPED IN A BODY THAT CAN'T RECOGNIZE HIM AND HIM LOVING HER AND NOT BEING RECOGNIZED.
    BLESSINGS TO YOU AND THEM

  18. Thank you for the nice note you left me. We seem to have more than old houses in common. My daughter received her doctorate from Oxford this last Spring, so I know how proud you must be of all her hard work! It is quite an accomplishment--and USC a wonderful school too. We live in Norther Calif. - Walnut Creek- but it isn't as far as New Jersey- so give her my address if she ever needs anything. I have four children and they have attended schools all over the country/world. It is nice to know they have people to call on that are close if they need them.

    Happy Thursday!
    Paula
